A Forest of Caring at the Bourne Library!

The Jonathan Bourne Public Library is an integral part of our community. Their drop box at the Veteran’s Memorial Community Center on Main Street makes it even more convenient for residents on this side of the canal! Right now, however, I encourage everyone in town to stop by and visit the Library in person to see their Caring Winter Wonderland.

Sea turtles, seals, and sea shells grace this tree to benefit the National Marine Life Center.

Trees decorated by local groups create a forest of caring. Library visitors may bid on the themed trees from now until December 15th. Proceeds raised go to benefit local non-profit organizations including the Library itself, the National Marine Life Center, the Herring Pond Wampanoag Tribe, Habitat for Humanity, and others.

This tree featuring traditional symbols of the Wampanoag culture benefits the Wopanaak Language Reclamation Project.

The Library also features Giving Trees where you can leave a donation of needed items for the following charities.
The American Cancer Society
The Bourne Food Pantry
Cape Cod Cares for Our Troops
Carriage House

Buzzards Bay Beautification Group Seeking Funds for Christmas Gala in the Park

The Buzzards Bay Beautification Group needs to raise $5000 to underwrite its annual
stellar Christmas event in the town park, on November 27th, including free fantasy
polar bear express train rides for the children, provided by Cape Cod Central RR.

I have agreed to help them in their fund raising venture, and as such,
I am coming to you to help me help them!
You can help them by sending me a check for amount you deem appropriate
payable to the Buzzards Bay Beautification Group. (BBBGroup)

I am eager to raise as much money as I can to help them meet their goal.

Next Summer we plan to hold a Home & Garden tour of Buzzards Bay. This is the first time for such an event hosted by Buzzards Bay and will be eye opening!

October, 2009 we will once again host our Scarecrow contest and Pumpkin Festival in Buzzards Bay Park.
