BUZZARDS BAY VILLAGE ASSOCIATION ELECTS NEW OFFICERS

Louis Wilson, president and owner of C. W. Douglas Auto Parts on Main Street in Buzzards Bay is the new chair of the Buzzards Bay Village Association. Wilson was elected to head the Association's at its annual meeting held last week at the Bridgemoor Restaurant & Inn.

Jeff Luce, Economic and Community Development Specialist for NSTAR was elected vice-chair; Keith Songer of Buzzards Bay was re-elected secretary/clerk; David Dunn, president of G. H. Dunn Insurance on Main Street in Buzzards Bay was re-elected treasurer and Tom Moccia was promoted from executive director to president of the Association.

The mission of the Buzzards Bay Village Association is the implementation of plans and programs to rehabilitate Main Street/Buzzards Bay restoring it as a viable and visible center for business and job opportunities, housing, recreation, transportation and tourism.

The Association has has just commissioned an international design competition, bringing together a host of architects, planners, environmentalists and land use specialists to offer re-use options for the area keeping in harmony with resident needs and aspirations, consistent with Cape Cod ambience. The competition results are due in mid-spring, 2005.
